KAPPA SIGMA: SETTING THE NEW STANDARD

August 13, 2017

From day one Omicron-Pi has strived to be number one. It has been a little over ten years since we first became a chapter. Ten years of hard work and dedication, ten years of continuously having to fight to exist, ten years of only recruiting the best, but really, ten years of excellence. This past July at the Kappa Sigma Grand Conclave in Las Vegas, our chapter was awarded three different awards: Chapter Academic Excellence Award for winter and fall 2016 semesters and the Champion Chapter award (awarded to chapters with the highest membership in their district). Two of our members were given individual awards. Martin Klemes (Omicron-Pi, Carleton University, '10) (Alumnus) received the The Distinguished Service Commendation award and Jake Graham (Omicron-Pi, Carleton University, '15) (Undergraduate) received the Star & Crescent Society Winner award.

Our chapter hasn't been the only one continuously striving to be number one. Kappa Sigma as a whole has continued to break records. During the past biennium (2015-2017), our fraternity:

1. Gave over $6.7 million and served over 1.4 million hours at local charities and philanthropies,
2. Raised over $676,000 for Kappa Sigma's Military Heroes Campaign benefiting military and veterans' service organizations, and
3. Recruiting over 20,000 new pledges to join us on the journey to becoming a better man!
